S Korea artist donates for Iran victims

Famous South Korean actress Lee Young-ae has made a monetary donation to relief efforts for Iran quake victims.

The South Korean actress donated 106 million won (USD 96,398) to a local charity to aid recent earthquake victims in Iran and South Korea, the charity said Monday.

The Seoul-based Korea Foundation for Persons with Disabilities said about half of the money will be used for quake victims in Iran, adding it already sent the actress donation to the Iranian Embassy in Seoul.

Lee Young-ae is a South Korean actress. She is known for her appearance in the Korean historical drama 'Dae Jang Geum', AKA Jewel in the Palace.

.The artist is famous among Iranians due to her part in the series aired by the IRIB (Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting) channels. She already paid a visit to Iran as well

An intense tremor hit Western Iran last week, leaving some citizens dead or injured. Many people as well as a great number of Iranian political, cultural and artistic figures have donated for the quake victims.
